SANDON, Hawaii (May 23, 2017) – A California man has been sentenced to six years of probation and ordered to pay restitution to a Los Angeles drug store that sells Viagra and other pharmaceutical products.
Michael James Humberto has been released on $25,000 bond and will be sentenced on April 26, 2017, at 12:01 p.m.
“It is great news for me,” Humberto said in a statement. “I’ve been living in Los Angeles for the past five years and I can honestly say that I’ve been a very happy person with my life. I had a very difficult time getting arrested for buying Viagra in Los Angeles and I had the opportunity to get help from a local police officer. I believe that I will never regret what I did and I hope that this will help my family and I will be able to continue to live my life with confidence and happiness.”
Humberto was arrested on April 11, 2016 in theornia county jail in Long Beach, California, and was released on bond on June 11, 2016. He was released on a $250,000 bond. Humberto is scheduled to be sentenced on June 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. He was arrested and released on bond on June 11, 2017.
The case was originally set for trial on August 12, 2017 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The trial was scheduled for June 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
About the Case
On April 19, 2017, Humberto, 30, of Long Beach, California, was sentenced to three years of probation in federal prison for trafficking in counterfeit Viagra and other prescription drugs. Humberto was ordered to pay restitution to the retail drug stores, including Eli Lilly & Company, CVS Health and Walgreens. The trial was scheduled to begin in the spring of 2017.

LONDON, England — A British court has ordered British men who sell sex drugs to end up with a £10,000 fine if they were found guilty of selling a Viagra prescription.
The Viagra trade in Britain has been subject to strict licensing and the latest court order has found that the British men who sell sex drugs to British men over the counter are illegally selling the drug to a British company and are in violation of British Health Regulatory Agency (CHRA) regulations.
The court order, which was signed by the High Court, includes a statement from the CHRA about how a drug is being sold in Britain under the trade name of Viagra. It is the latest in a series of cases which have led to a fine of up to 10 million pounds ($13.2 million) in damages to a private company.
In a statement from the ChRA on Thursday, Mr. Justice Graham said: “The CHRA has issued a warning to the public in respect of the sale of drugs that are not regulated in the UK. The CHRA has issued a notice to anyone selling a prescription drug and has also issued a warning to anyone who sells a prescription drug that is not regulated in the UK that is being sold in Britain under the trade name of Viagra.”
He added that, “In the first instance of this warning, the public has asked the CHRA to intervene on behalf of the public and in the second instance of this response have asked the CHRA to intervene on behalf of the public and to seek advice from the regulatory authorities regarding the sale of the prescription drug.”
